ശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്‍റെ നിരാകരണം (The Negation of Science) – Ravichandran .C

This presentation was done by noted freethinker and authour Ravichandran C at Karunya Auditorium, KR Puram, Banglore on 18.3.17. The event was conducted by esSENSE, Bangalore. Ravichandran here talks about how Kerala society negated the positive values and functional criteria science stands for so as to embrace illusory equations of pseudo science, quackery, religious fanaticism. Science is the best way to do any thing in this world. It has the best possible methodology and code of conduct. It is descriptive rather than prescriptive and take a stand of moral neutrality. But that won’t make society robotic or inhuman. Because, essentially, man is a moral animal. To be a scientific human being means you are not only scientific but also moral. Science also calls for the updation of social morality as per requirements. But, at present, eating the fruits of science and cutting its roots is the favourite past time of Keralites. The Speaker would like to see light at the end of the tunnel. That is possible only if the society begins to adopt the scientific way of thinking in general, he says.
